House of Reps Urges Mass Recruitment of Lecturers; ASUU Warned Against Strikes

The House of Representatives has called on Bola Tinubu's government to initiate mass recruitment of lecturers and university workers due to the current workforce being overstretched. The committee on university education, led by Hon.

Abubakar Hassan Fulata, urged ASUU to halt its planned strike to prevent disruptions in the academic calendar. ASUU in Enugu State accused the federal government of stalling on agreements, risking a national crisis.

President Tinubu directed Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, to implement a new negotiation strategy for tertiary institutions nationwide.
