Nigerian House Releases Tax Reform Acts Amid Controversy

The Nigerian House of Representatives in Abuja has released four tax reform acts recently signed into law by President Bola Tinubu to address discrepancies in the nation's tax laws. This move comes after public controversy and allegations of altering the tax laws.

The Speaker of the House, Hon. Tajudeen Abba, and the President of the Senate, Godswil Akpabio, directed the immediate release of certified true copies of the laws to the public for verification.

The controversy arose during a plenary session when lawmaker Abdussamad Dasuki raised concerns about inconsistencies in the newly enacted tax laws, prompting an investigation and verification process to restore clarity and transparency.
