Former Bauchi APC Women Leader Murdered in Home Attack
Mrs Jemimah J. Dutse, aged 51, was the former Zonal Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi South. She was discovered dead in her residence in the Yelwa area of Bauchi metropolis on October 3, 2026, with her throat slit by an unidentified assailant.
The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident and initiated an investigation. SP Nafiu Habib reported that a 49-year-old man from Muazu New Layout alerted the police about the discovery of her body in a pool of blood.
Detectives visited the scene, documented it, and transported the body to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) for examination and autopsy. The Take-It-Back (TIB) Movement condemned the murder, calling it a "senseless act of violence" and expressing concern for public safety.
The Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, ordered the case to be transferred to the Homicide Section for thorough investigation. Silas Sabo, Dutse’s brother, expressed the family's devastation over her murder.
