How El-Rufai campaigned for ADC, SDP candidates in Kaduna by-elections

In the Kaduna by-elections, Governor El-Rufai campaigned for candidates from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), causing division among voters. He supported the ADC candidate for the Federal House of Representatives race in Kujama, Kasuwar Magani, and Sabon Tasha, as well as the SDP candidate in Zaria Kewaye state constituency and Basawa constituency in Sabon Gari LGA.

Despite the loss of three constituencies to the ruling Progressives Congress (APC), El-Rufai's strategy aimed to maintain coalition unity and political relevance. Some residents expressed confusion over the dual campaigning, with one voter criticizing the approach.

The decision to support the SDP in Zaria and Sabon Gari was based on the party's stronger grassroots base in the area. The coalition plans to review and prepare for the 2027 elections.
