Abba Yusuf Lauds Tinubu's NELFUND for Education Access

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), recognizing it as a vital initiative to expand access to higher education for Nigerian students. This commendation was expressed in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, during the 2nd and 3rd combined convocation ceremony of Al-Istiqama University in Kano State, where 1,101 students graduated from various academic programs.

Governor Yusuf emphasized that NELFUND would provide students and their parents with better opportunities to finance tertiary education, thereby reducing financial barriers for qualified young Nigerians. He extended appreciation to the federal government for its support of the education sector and urged the graduates to apply their acquired knowledge and skills for the benefit of their communities and Nigeria.

Yusuf also acknowledged the contributions of Al-Istiqama University’s management and staff in promoting higher education in Kano State, asserting that investments in education are crucial for sustainable development and economic growth.
