Abba Yusuf Lauds Tinubu's Education Loan Fund Initiative

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) initiative, which he described as a crucial intervention for expanding access to higher education for Nigerian students. This commendation was made in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, during the 2nd and 3rd Combined Convocation Ceremony of Al-Istiqama University in Kano State, where 1,101 students graduated.

Yusuf emphasized that NELFUND would provide students and their parents with better opportunities to finance tertiary education, reducing financial barriers. He expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for its support in the education sector and urged graduates to apply their knowledge productively in their communities.

The ceremony also included the conferment of honorary degrees on Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil and Alhaji Abdulmumini Mai Shanu, as well as a posthumous doctorate for Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, recognizing their contributions to education.
