Jang Credits Babangida for His Public Service Journey

Ex-Governor Jonah Jang expressed gratitude to General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida for his pivotal role in his public service career during the public presentation of his autobiography titled “From Airman to Politics,” held in Jos to celebrate his 80th birthday. The event was attended by notable figures including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

Jang recounted his military experience and acknowledged Babangida for appointing him as the Military Governor of Benue and Gongola States, despite his early retirement from the military. He emphasized that this opportunity significantly influenced his public service trajectory.

Jang cautioned political office holders about the transient nature of power and urged them to focus on serving humanity. He also mentioned that one of the motivations for writing his autobiography was to clarify misconceptions about him and present his experiences truthfully, stating that the book is not intended to settle scores.
