Jang Urges Integrity Over Power at 80th Birthday Celebration

On Saturday, during the celebration of his 80th birthday in Jos, Senator Jonah Jang, the former Governor of Plateau State, delivered a poignant message to Nigeria's political class, asserting that political power is temporary while character, faith, and service to humanity endure. He reflected on his life, stating that integrity and one's relationship with God should take precedence over the pursuit of power, fame, and wealth.

Jang called on politicians to leave a legacy of selfless service and urged young Nigerians to embrace Christ for true fulfillment. He explained that his autobiography, "From Airman to Politics," was motivated by his son Yakubu's encouragement to document his experiences and clarify misconceptions about his public life.

Jang expressed gratitude to significant figures in his career, including General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, who appointed him Military Governor of Benue and Gongola states, and former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan for their support during his tenure as Governor of Plateau State.
