Kwara State Markets and NYSC Camps Closed Due to Insecurity Crisis

In Kwara State, insecurity has led to the closure of markets and NYSC camps in two senatorial districts due to escalating violence despite government efforts. Seven local government chairmen in Kwara South ordered the immediate shutdown of the Kara cattle market in Yusuf Ifelodun, Benjamin Jolayemi, Isin, Azeez Yakub, Irepodun, Awelewa Gabriel Ekiti, James Fadipe Sulyman Olatunji Offa, and Akanbi Olarewaju Oyun districts.

This decision aims to prevent criminal network infiltration as security agencies continue operations against armed groups. The closure is a precautionary measure to protect lives and property, prioritizing safety over economic activities in the face of prevailing security challenges.
