Kwara NYSC Camp Relocated Due to Insecurity Concerns in Kwara North

The worsening insecurity situation in Kwara State has led to the relocation of the NYSC orientation camp from Yikpata to a new venue approved by the state government. The State Coordinator of NYSC confirmed the decision, citing safety concerns in Kwara North, particularly in Edu and Patigi LGAs, which have been hit by repeated bandit attacks.

The relocation comes after reports of killings, kidnappings, and displacements in the region. The decision to abandon the Yikpata camp was made to ensure the safety of prospective corps members.

The NYSC headquarters will inspect the new venue to meet necessary requirements for the orientation exercise, scheduled from September 24 to October 14.
