Asake Reveals Father's Opposition to His Music Career

In a recent interview, Nigerian singer Asake, whose real name is Ololade Ahmed, discussed the challenges he faced regarding his music career, particularly the opposition from his father, Fatai Odunsi. Asake revealed that his father firmly resisted his decision to pursue music, which strained their once-close relationship.

Despite this opposition, Asake chose to follow his passion and left home to pursue his dreams. The situation drew public attention in March 2025 when Fatai Odunsi accused Asake of neglect and abandonment.

However, the relationship was later resolved, and the pair reconciled. Asake reportedly took responsibility for his father's welfare, even gifting him a luxury car, indicating a restoration of their bond after the initial conflict over his career choice.
