Nigerian Forces Pressure Oyo Kidnappers to Release Pupils

Mohan Ngosh, a former Assistant Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), detailed how Nigerian security forces successfully pressured kidnappers to release pupils and a teacher abducted in Oriir Local Government Area, Oyo State. Speaking on a television program, Ngosh praised the efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces and security agencies, urging the public to recognize their work despite criticisms regarding operational transparency.

He explained that the operation involved isolating the kidnappers by blocking access to essential supplies, which weakened their network. As pressure mounted, the kidnappers ultimately surrendered, realizing they could no longer withstand the security forces' pressure.

Ngosh noted that three security personnel were killed during the operation, which took place in March. The successful rescue operation was a coordinated effort among various security agencies, addressing widespread concern over the abduction incident.
