Troops Rescue Amina Abubakar from Bandits in Katsina

Troops from the Nigerian Military successfully rescued Amina Abubakar, the wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, who was the former Director of Defence Information. Amina was abducted alongside her husband by armed bandits.

Following a week of intensive search and rescue operations, the military launched an intelligence-driven mission to locate her. Major General Samaila Uba, the Director of Defence Information, confirmed the breakthrough when troops made contact with the bandits in Tunga Village.

During the operation, the bandits opened fire, prompting the troops to apply pressure, which led to the bandits abandoning Amina. The troops secured the area and recovered her, ending her ordeal.

She was subsequently evacuated to a military hospital for urgent medical treatment and is reported to be responding positively. The military leadership assured that necessary support would be provided to her family for a full recovery.

The incident has raised widespread concern and condemnation regarding the abduction.
