Abubakar Yakubu Wins AGN Presidency, Defeats Rita Daniel in Close Election

Abubakar Yakubu emerged as the new President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), narrowly defeating Rita Daniel in a closely contested election held during the guild's annual general meeting in Benin City, Edo State. Yakubu, a veteran actor with extensive administrative experience, secured 116 votes against Daniel's 113.

His victory marks a historic milestone as he becomes the first AGN President from Northern Nigeria since the guild's official registration in 1998. The election also saw Ifeoma Okek elected as the new National Secretary.

Yakubu's presidency is expected to usher in a new era for the guild, focusing on building decades of administrative experience and fostering growth within Nigeria's entertainment industry.
