Hundreds Arrested in Paris After PSG Champions League Win

Following Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) Champions League final victory against Arsenal on Saturday night, riots erupted across Paris, leading to the arrest of 780 individuals. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez reported that 219 people were injured during clashes between football fans and police.

To curb the unrest, approximately 6,000 police officers were deployed, disrupting train and rail services in the capital. The violence included attempts by rioters to block roads, with eight individuals reported in serious condition.

Despite the chaos, a celebratory parade took place peacefully around the Eiffel Tower on Sunday evening, where fans cheered for PSG players and staff. French President Emmanuel Macron was present at the celebrations, which began around 18:00 local time.
