Wale Edun Reflects on Tenure as Nigeria's Finance Minister

Wale Edun, the outgoing Minister of Finance in Nigeria, expressed pride in his service after exiting the cabinet of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His tenure, which began in May 2023, was marked by significant economic challenges, during which he served as the head of the presidential transition committee and as a special adviser on monetary policy.

Edun noted that under his leadership, economic growth improved from two percent to four percent, and inflation decreased from 35 percent to 15 percent. He attributed these developments to coordinated policy measures aimed at renewing investor confidence and emphasized the collaborative efforts involving members of the Federal Executive Council, state governors, and public-private sector partners.

Edun reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Nigeria's development beyond his time in office and expressed confidence in the country's economic direction, wishing success to his successor.
