Obasanjo Changes View on Charly Boy After Family Visit

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo revealed that he initially had no regard for veteran Nigerian entertainer Charles Oputa, known as Charly Boy, when they first met. This statement was made during an appearance on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast, hosted by comedian Isbae U.

Obasanjo's perception shifted after he visited Charly Boy's home and observed the dedicated care Charly Boy provided to his father, the late Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, until his death. He noted that Charly Boy also extended similar care to his mother, whom Obasanjo described as humorous.

The former president frequently visited Charly Boy's mother and expressed admiration for Justice Oputa, stating he wished Charly Boy had taken after his father. Additionally, Obasanjo confronted Charly Boy about his unconventional public persona, to which Charly Boy explained that it was a business strategy.
