Dozie Clarifies Relationship with Governor Uzodimma

Dozie, who has been appointed as the pioneer vice chancellor of Imo State University, disclosed during a press briefing held last Tuesday in Owerri that he did not know Governor Hope Uzodimma prior to his appointment. This statement was made to clarify assumptions regarding a supposed connection between them, which stemmed from the fact that Dozie's predecessor had a mutual relationship with the governor.

He expressed deep gratitude to Governor Uzodimma for the opportunity, stating it was a significant privilege and honor. Dozie emphasized his commitment to ensuring regular payment of staff salaries and the release of monthly imprest to support the university's growth and development.

The briefing included top management staff from the university, such as Prof. Anthony Ogbuli, the deputy vice chancellor.
