Jibrin Declares Authentic Kogi East APC Candidate Status

Senator Isah Jibrin, representing Kogi East, has declared himself the authentic senatorial candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. He made this assertion on Thursday in Abuja, refuting reports suggesting he lost support during the party's primary elections, which he described as false and politically motivated.

Jibrin specifically dismissed claims that he received zero votes and that Joseph Erico was the preferred candidate of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, who allegedly secured 3,642 votes. He emphasized that no valid primary election took place in the district and denied any intention to withdraw from the race.

Jibrin urged APC leadership and stakeholders to support him and condemned the spread of misinformation, attributing it to political actors attempting to create confusion and tension within the party. He remains committed to representing the people of Kogi East and has not authorized anyone to speak on his behalf regarding these matters.
