Mourinho Reveals 2013 Agreement with Man United

In his Netflix documentary, former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho disclosed that he signed an agreement in 2013 to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United after leaving Real Madrid. Despite being flattered by the opportunity, Mourinho decided to join Chelsea instead.

He recounted a phone call with Ferguson, where he expressed his regret and explained that he could not break his word to Chelsea. Ferguson, who retired at the end of the 2012/13 season, confirmed this conversation, stating he was disappointed by Mourinho's decision.

Following this, David Moyes was appointed as Ferguson's successor at Manchester United. Mourinho later became the manager of Manchester United in 2016, succeeding Louis van Gaal, and during his tenure, he won the Europa League, Carabao Cup, and Community Shield.
