Jose Mourinho, the current manager of Real Madrid, discussed his influence on Manuel Pellegrini's success in winning the Premier League title in 2014 while Pellegrini was the manager of Manchester City. At that time, Mourinho was in his second stint with Chelsea.

The title race was notably competitive, particularly between Manchester City and Liverpool. A significant moment occurred when Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield, which Mourinho believes was a turning point that allowed City to clinch the title.

Mourinho expressed regret over past comments about Pellegrini, stating, “I said dumb words about him in the past, that I regret.” He acknowledged that his actions indirectly contributed to Pellegrini's championship victory, saying, “I gave him the Premier League he won with Manchester City.” Mourinho is set to face Pellegrini again when Real Madrid plays against Real Betis this weekend.
