Kira Taiwo Mourns Father Ogogo, Shares Heartfelt Tribute

Kira Taiwo, the daughter of the late Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo, expressed profound grief in an emotional tribute following her father's death on August 24, 2026, at the age of 66. She revealed that Ogogo passed away before he could meet her unborn second child, describing this loss as the deepest heartbreak she has ever experienced.

In her tribute, she referenced a message from Ogogo dated July 26, where he encouraged her to stay strong, indicating that her tears made it harder for him to fight his illness. Ogogo had been battling stage-four cancer, and days before his death, Kira and her sister Haleemah made a public appeal for medical assistance, as doctors had determined that chemotherapy was no longer an option due to his deteriorating condition.

Despite the support from the public and industry colleagues, including Femi Adebayo, Ogogo did not recover and was buried on August 25 in Ilaro, Ogun State, attended by family, colleagues, and fans.
