Kaduna Cleric Ahmad Umar Denies Arrest Claims by Obi

Obi's post suggested that Umar's alleged detention indicated a troubling trend of diminishing democratic space in Nigeria.

In response, Umar released a video clarifying that he was not arrested or detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) but was invited for questioning. He emphasized that he was fully cooperative and was released safely.

Umar urged residents to maintain peace and avoid actions that could disrupt public order, advising them to engage in the democratic process by registering to vote and choosing better leadership when the time comes. The controversy began on Tuesday, and Umar's swift rebuttal aimed to quell any unrest stemming from the misinformation.
