Orji Kalu to Oppose Alex Otti in 2027 Abia Election

Orji Kalu, the former governor of Abia State and current senator representing Abia North, declared his intention to oppose the re-election of Alex Otti in the upcoming 2027 governorship election. Kalu made this announcement during an interview on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily.

He emphasized that while he maintains a strong personal relationship with Otti, political differences should not destroy personal ties. Kalu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed his belief that party loyalty is paramount and that he will work to ensure that the APC fields a candidate for the election.

He reiterated his commitment to political stability and peace in Abia State, despite his firm stance on opposing Otti's re-election. Kalu's remarks indicate a clear intention to prioritize the interests of his party while maintaining cordial relations with Otti, who is a member of the Labour Party.
