Kalu Opposes Otti's Re-Election in 2027 Governorship Poll

Orji Uzor Kalu, the former governor of Abia State and current senator representing Abia North, has publicly declared his intention to oppose the re-election of Governor Alex Otti in the upcoming 2027 governorship election. In an interview with Channels Television's Sunrise Daily, Kalu expressed his commitment to his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and highlighted the importance of maintaining political stability and peace in Abia State.

Despite his opposition to Otti, who is a member of the Labour Party, Kalu stressed that political differences should not destroy personal relationships. He affirmed his loyalty to the APC and indicated that he would prioritize the progress of the state while allowing Otti the space to govern effectively.
