Kalu Opposes Otti's 2027 Re-election Bid in Abia State

Orji Uzor Kalu, the former governor of Abia State and current senator representing Abia North, declared his opposition to the re-election bid of Governor Alex Otti in the upcoming 2027 gubernatorial elections. In an interview on the Sunrise Daily program on Channels Television, Kalu stressed the importance of party loyalty and indicated that despite their personal friendship, political differences would not deter him from supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) against Otti, who belongs to the Labour Party.

Kalu acknowledged the need for cooperation within the political landscape but made it clear that he would unequivocally oppose Otti's candidacy, reiterating his commitment to the APC. He also mentioned that he would work to ensure that the APC fields a candidate that aligns with the party's interests in the state, while still valuing the personal relationship he maintains with Otti.
