Ibom Air Bans Passenger Over Violent Onboard Attack

Ibom Air has imposed a lifetime ban on passenger Comfort Emmanson following a violent incident on a flight on August 10, 2025. The airline stated that Emmanson endangered the safety of the crew and passengers by refusing to comply with instructions to switch off her mobile phone, leading to a verbal outburst.

Upon arrival in Lagos, Emmanson allegedly attacked a Purser, tore off their wig, smashed glasses, and assaulted them and another crew member. The airline commended the bravery and professionalism of the crew in handling the situation and swiftly receiving support from airport security and the Nigeria Police.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority reiterated its stance on unruly behavior, warning that such actions will attract the strongest sanctions, including legal action. Emmanson was eventually restrained, removed from the aircraft, and handed over to the Nigeria Police for investigation.
