Ibom Air Shares Details as Officials Drag Passenger Out of Aircraft, Announces Punishment

Ibom Air recently addressed an incident where a passenger, Ms. Comfort Emmanson, was forcibly removed from a flight on August 10, 2025.

The airline stated that Emmanson refused to comply with standard aviation safety procedures despite repeated instructions from the flight crew. Another passenger intervened to help calm the situation, but Emmanson's aggression persisted, leading to her being banned from flying with the airline in the future.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigeria Police Force are investigating the incident. This was the second incident involving a passenger at the domestic terminal of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport that week.

Earlier, a passenger on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos caused a disturbance, prompting the airline to seek advice from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
