ICPC Interrogates APC's Toyin Okoro Over Fraud Allegations

Toyin Okoro, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ise-Orun/Ikere/Ekiti Federal Constituency in the 2027 election, was interrogated by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on September 17, 2026. This questioning followed an invitation dated September 7, 2026, signed by Oshinyemi Oluwaseun, Head of the Commission’s Special Duty Team.

Okoro, a former Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, was questioned for over two hours regarding allegations of maintaining an interest in a private company while serving in the National Assembly. Investigators are examining claims that he facilitated government contracts for this company from public institutions, including the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

Additionally, they are investigating whether he received salaries from the National Assembly while retaining ownership of the private company and if he falsified documents related to his resignation from it. Okoro was released on bail with instructions to return for further questioning.
