ICPC Secures Final Forfeiture of Hotel and ₦14.1m Linked to Ex-ExxonMobil Staff Over Fake Credentials

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has obtained a final court order to forfeit a hotel and ₦14.1 million linked to a former ExxonMobil employee, Okon Tom Ekpo, who secured a job with falsified documents. Ekpo agreed to relinquish the hotel located in Alafia Estate off Lagos-Ibadan Expressway following a plea bargain.

Despite attempts by Ekpo's wife to overturn the forfeiture, the court dismissed the application, citing lack of merit. This case reinforces Nigeria's fight against corruption and asset recovery efforts.
