Idoma Group to Petition Trump Over Benue Insecurity

The Idoma Association USA (IAUSA) has resolved to petition United States President Donald Trump concerning the ongoing killings, displacement, and deteriorating security situation in Benue South Senatorial District and other areas of Benue State. This decision was made during the association’s 30th Annual Convention held in Virginia Beach, Virginia, themed “Building Unity Through Accountability.” The convention expressed serious concerns over persistent insecurity and the displacement of residents in Benue South.

IAUSA called for decisive measures from the Federal Government, Benue State Government, and security agencies to protect lives and restore peace. The petition aims to draw international attention to the humanitarian crisis and seek support for affected communities.

Additionally, IAUSA plans to facilitate an opportunity for His Royal Majesty Agaba’Idu John Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji to present these concerns to the U.S. Congress.

The association also intends to organize a medical mission to Nigeria in December 2026 to provide healthcare services to underserved communities.
