Idoma Traditional Council Halts Chieftaincy Title Conferment

The Idoma Traditional Council, under the leadership of Ochidoma Royal Majesty Dr. Elaigwu Odogbo John, has suspended the conferment of chieftaincy titles in Idoma land.

The council declared all titles conferred in contravention of its regulations as null and void. This decision, announced by the Secretary of the Idoma Area Traditional Council, Adegbe Uloko, aims to regulate and safeguard the traditional institution from indiscriminate proliferation.

The suspension prohibits unauthorized conferment of titles and empowers the Paramount Ruler of the Idoma Area Traditional Council to approve and announce chieftaincy titles. The move underscores the council's commitment to upholding traditional norms and ensuring the sanctity of chieftaincy practices in the region.
