Makinde Warns Against Weakening Political Opposition

On Saturday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde addressed a summit focused on strengthening coordination among political parties, held in Ibadan. He emphasized that if the opposition is allowed to weaken, the entire country would face severe consequences for its democracy.

The summit, organized by various political groups including the People's Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), aimed to promote unity and collaboration among these parties. Makinde highlighted the importance of addressing Nigeria's current socio-economic and security challenges through honest dialogue and cooperation among political actors.

He noted that the event was a response to growing national concerns regarding governance, security, and economic pressures, and stressed the need for political engagement that transcends party lines to stabilize the nation.
