Ohanaeze Ndigbo Laments Abandonment of Nnamdi Kanu by Igbo Leaders

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo sociocultural organization, has accused Igbo political leaders of abandoning Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). In a statement signed by Deputy Ohanaeze Ndigbo Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the group lamented that while leaders from the north have taken steps to defend their people, Igbo leaders have remained silent or made token gestures.

The statement criticized the Igbo political elite for not actively working towards Kanu's release and instead engaging in what was described as a deceitful game. The group accused them of prioritizing public sentiment over genuine resolution.
