Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal Rejects Terrorist Negotiations

Dauda Lawal, the Governor of Zamfara State, declared that his administration will never negotiate with terrorists, reinforcing a commitment to confront insecurity through strategic operations rather than peace deals with armed groups. Lawal's statement comes amid worsening security conditions in Zamfara, where there has been a rise in attacks, prompting concerns from residents.

He responded to calls for dialogue with bandits, particularly from community elders, by stating that negotiating with criminals sends the wrong message and undermines government authority. Lawal emphasized that the government has not lost control of the situation, despite recent protests along the Shinkafi-Kaura Namoda road, where citizens expressed their dissatisfaction with the security situation.

He acknowledged the right of citizens to voice their frustrations and assured that their concerns would be addressed, although he noted that some issues may be beyond the government's capacity to resolve.
