Pete Edochie Dismisses Death Rumors, Expresses Frustration Over Hoaxes

Legendary Nollywood actor Pete Edochie, aged 78, has vehemently denied recent death rumors, labeling them as baseless and mischievous. Edochie, known for his iconic roles, expressed frustration over the recurring hoaxes that have plagued him over the years, including seven false declarations of his demise.

In a telephone conversation with Vanguard on Tuesday, Edochie clarified that he remains alive and well. He recounted past incidents of fake death reports, such as claims of his involvement in an abroad plane crash, highlighting the distress caused to his family.

Edochie shared that he draws inspiration from lessons learned and shared with the late nationalist Nnamdi Azikiwe. Despite the persistent death hoaxes dating back to 2012, Edochie continues to enjoy immense popularity and admiration from fans in Nigeria and beyond.

The veteran actor, a recipient of national honors and industry awards, remains a revered figure in Nollywood.
