I’m not desperate to be president —Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed his interest in a better Nigeria but clarified that he is not desperate to become president. Speaking at an affirmation ceremony for new defectors to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos, Atiku emphasized his eagerness to lead the country towards security and prosperity.

He outlined his plans to build a better Nigeria through good governance that delivers for all Nigerians. Professor Ola Olateju, speaking on behalf of Atiku, highlighted the need for a new beginning in Nigeria and praised the ADC for repositioning the country.

Atiku stated that whoever emerges as the ADC presidential candidate in 2023 will have his support, emphasizing the importance of a free and fair contest. He also addressed challenges facing Nigerians, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and inflation, and stressed the role of good leadership in achieving a better Nigeria.

Atiku concluded by affirming his commitment to the country's progress, stating that he will support the chosen candidate to represent.
