Mr Macaroni Steps Back from Political Commentary

Nigerian actor and comedian Adebowale Adedayo, known as Mr Macaroni, announced his decision to reduce his political commentary on September 17. In a post on X, he clarified that he has not ceased discussing government issues due to threats, which he has faced since 2020.

Mr Macaroni expressed his exhaustion from repeatedly voicing concerns about corruption and oppression without witnessing sufficient public response. He stated, “I am TIRED of saying the same thing over and over again,” emphasizing the need for Nigerians to take action against the injustices they endure.

Additionally, he mentioned personal difficulties in recent years, prompting him to focus on recovery and his creative work. This announcement followed the resurfacing of a past interview with Wazobia FM, where he discussed the personal risks associated with his activism during the #EndSARS protests, including threats that caused concern for his family's safety.
