Mr Macaroni Explains His Reduced Criticism of Government

Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has shared his reasons for reducing his public criticism of the Nigerian government. He expressed fatigue from reiterating the same concerns without witnessing any change and facing backlash and threats during his activism, particularly during the #EndSARS protests.

In a video shared by Wazobia FM, he clarified that the interview was recorded over two years ago, but the issues discussed remain relevant. Mr Macaroni criticized the tendency of Nigerians to complain about problems but quickly move on without demanding change.

He cited a post from March 2026, where he labeled President Bola Tinubu's administration as “the Most Useless Government in the history of Useless Governments,” marking the point when he decided to take a break from political commentary. He noted that his activism has affected his relationships with some Nigerians, who sometimes viewed him as a troublemaker.

He emphasized that his decision to step back was not due to a lack of care for the country but rather exhaustion from repeating the same arguments.
