Governor Umahi Asserts Increased Political Influence; Legislators Express Discontent Over Rice Distribution Process

Governor Umahi of Ebonyi State asserted his heightened political influence during a recent political gathering, stating, "I'm very dangerous now." Simultaneously, discontent has arisen among members of the lower legislative chamber due to strict conditions attached to the distribution process of foodstuff, particularly rice. Legislators are reportedly required to obtain special forms from the Speaker's office, present photocopies of official identification cards, and secure written authorization to collect rice.

The memo outlining these procedures has caused dissatisfaction among the legislators, with some sources claiming that the process is burdensome. The collection point for the rice distribution is scheduled to be at Garki International Market near the old Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Quarter.
