Udechukwu Re-elected Duruojije Union Chair in Imo State

DSP Harrison Udechukwu (retd.) has been re-elected as Chairman of the Duruojije Improvement Union in Umueze-Abazu Ogwa, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, for a four-year term. The election, which introduced an open-secret ballot system for in-person voters and an online voting system for those in the diaspora, resulted in Udechukwu receiving 106 votes, while his opponent, Comrade Bright Iroka, garnered 76 votes.

Other elected officials include Hon Bourdilon Ebeninye as Vice Chairman, defeating Augustine Ejiogu 76-58, and Bartholomew Nduwuaku as General Secretary, winning against Kingsley Iroka 70-46. The election was deemed successful by Eddy Iwuanyanwu, Chairman of the Duruojije Electoral Committee, who noted the peaceful atmosphere and transparency of the process.

Hon Barr Dan Chibuzo Iwuorie, a community leader, administered the oath of office to the new executives. Udechukwu described the election as an innovation, marking the first use of the open-secret ballot and online voting in the village.
