Ugochinyere Praises INEC for Upholding Electoral Integrity

On September 24, 2026, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held a management meeting where it was decided to uphold the existing electoral arrangement in Urualla. This decision was welcomed by stakeholders in Ideato North and Ideato South, who had previously expressed concerns regarding transparency and due process in electoral administration.

Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere praised INEC's leadership under Prof. Joash Amupitan for demonstrating institutional responsibility and commitment to the integrity of Nigeria's electoral process. Ugochinyere emphasized the importance of stakeholder participation in decisions affecting electoral administration and stated that the decision should alleviate the controversy surrounding the proposed relocation.

He urged all stakeholders to support INEC in fostering an environment conducive to free and credible elections, reinforcing public confidence in the electoral system.
