Stakeholders Praise Tinubu's Creative Economy Reforms

Industry stakeholders commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unprecedented reforms in Nigeria's creative economy during a press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalists secretariat in Abuja on Thursday. They expressed confidence in the Tinubu-led federal government, recognizing its efforts to position the creative economy as a viable alternative to oil in diversifying the nation's economy.

Dr. Emeka Rolla, president of a support group, highlighted the administration's initiatives, including the establishment of a standalone federal ministry for arts, culture, and tourism, which reflects a commitment to the sector.

The stakeholders noted that Tinubu's government has shown clear leadership by appointing respected industry practitioners to key agency heads. They also mentioned the creation of a $100 million creative economy development fund aimed at providing financial access to filmmakers, musicians, and fashion entrepreneurs.

The administration has initiated a $617.7 million investment in digital creative enterprises to empower young Nigerians within the digital creative economy.
