INEC Collaborates for Electoral Reforms Ahead of 2027

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, revealed that INEC is engaging with the National Assembly to expedite the passage of key electoral reforms ahead of the 2027 general election. Professor Yakubu emphasized the importance of timely legislative reforms to finalize election guidelines and commence official training.

The European Union Election Observation Mission visited INEC headquarters, with Professor Yakubu noting the significant recommendations made for electoral improvements. INEC is reviewing these recommendations, categorizing them for action, stakeholder collaboration, or legislative measures to enhance the electoral process for future elections.
