INEC Updates Anambra Election Preparations, Emphasizes Voter Turnout Concerns

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, disclosed updates on the Anambra election, emphasizing the successful collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) by registered voters.

Despite past low turnout, efforts are being made to ensure a smooth election process, with special security arrangements in place. Ad hoc officials are warned against misconduct, with a commitment to rewarding credible conduct.

The INEC chairman also mentioned the deployment of officials to oversee the polls in various areas, including Ihiala and Awka. Adedayo Oketola serves as the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC chairman.
