INEC Intervenes in PDP Leadership Crisis Amid Factional Clashes

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) stepped in to mediate the deepening leadership crisis within the People's Democratic Party (PDP). The crisis involves factions led by Dr.

Bukola Saraki and Bauchi State PDP caretaker committee loyal to Governor Bala Mohammed, with Nyesom Wike directing the removal of certain individuals from the party secretariat. INEC's intervention aimed to address the conflict and ensure adherence to electoral laws.

The meeting, held in Abuja, emphasized the need for neutrality and compliance with constitutional provisions to facilitate upcoming elections in the FCT, Ekiti, and Osun states.
