INEC, Security Chiefs, Candidates Sign Peace Accord Ahead of Anambra Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security chiefs, and political candidates in Anambra State signed a peace accord in Awka to ensure a peaceful and credible governorship election. The event organized by the National Peace Committee brought together key stakeholders to commit to a violence-free and transparent electoral process.

INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, assured readiness to deliver a free and fair exercise with 24,000 officials deployed across polling units. Security Inspector General, DIG Kayode Egbetokun, emphasized the need for a robust security architecture to safeguard the election from start to finish.
