Niger State Parties and Candidates Sign Peace Accord for Local Government Elections

Parties and candidates in Niger State signed a peace accord ahead of the November 1, 2025, local government elections to guarantee a credible and violence-free process. The signing ceremony, organized by the Niger State Police Command, was attended by key stakeholders including the Chairman of NSIEC, Moham Imam, and the Chairman of IPAC, Isah Makujeri.

The event emphasized the constitutional role of the police in ensuring a peaceful electoral process. The peace accord aims to produce 25 local government chairmen and 274 councillors across 4,950 polling units in the state.
