InfraCredit Secures $50M from IFC for Infrastructure Growth

Infrastructure Credit Guarantee Company Plc (InfraCredit) has executed a $50 million subordinated unsecured 10-year debt facility with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. The facility will be disbursed in two tranches of $25 million each.
This investment aims to strengthen InfraCredit's capital structure, enabling it to support a growing pipeline of infrastructure transactions and mobilize long-term local currency financing in sectors such as renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, telecommunications, and healthcare. Aliou Maiga, IFC’s Financial Institutions Group Director for Africa, stated that the investment reflects IFC’s commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s infrastructure financing ecosystem.
Chinua Azubike, CEO of InfraCredit, emphasized the importance of building institutional capacity to mobilize domestic capital for infrastructure. The investment also signifies the international development finance community's confidence in InfraCredit's business model and its role in Nigeria's infrastructure financing landscape.
