Iran Football Team Wins Friendly Against Gambia 3-1

The Iran National Football Team commenced their World Cup preparation with a 3-1 friendly victory against the Gambia National Football Team in Antalya, Turkey, on Friday. After trailing 1-0 at halftime, Iran made a strong comeback in the second half, scoring three goals within 20 minutes, with notable contributions from Olympiacos forward Mehdi Taremi.

Due to tensions in the Middle East, the Iranian team has moved their base to Mexico and is currently awaiting visas to enter the United States for the World Cup. Iran's next friendly match is scheduled against Mali in Antalya on Thursday.

They will kick off their World Cup campaign against New Zealand on June 16 in Los Angeles, followed by further group matches against Belgium and Egypt in Seattle.
